Troubleshooting
Handling duplicate or missing mirrored events
What to do when you see duplicate events or expected events are missing.
Duplicate or missing events are uncommon, but they can occur in certain situations. Here is how to diagnose and resolve them.
Duplicate events
Why duplicates happen
Duplicates typically appear when:
- You manually created an event on the destination calendar that 2calendars also mirrored
- A sync connection was deleted and recreated, causing events to be mirrored again
- You have overlapping sync connections that cover the same source calendar
How to fix duplicates
- Identify which event is the mirrored copy. Mirrored events are usually titled “Busy” (or your custom title) and do not have attendees or full details unless you enabled detail copying.
- Delete the duplicate manually from Google Calendar.
- Review your connections to ensure you do not have overlapping rules that sync the same events twice.
Missing events
Why events might be missing
Events may not appear on the destination calendar if:
- The event was created before the sync connection was set up (we sync new and changed events, not historical ones)
- A sync rule is filtering the event out (for example, events tagged
[nosync]) - The event is on a calendar that is not selected as a source
- The Google account authorization has expired
How to fix missing events
- Check that the source calendar is correctly selected in your connection settings.
- Review any active sync rules that might exclude the event.
- Verify your Google account is still connected and authorized.
- Check the connection health status on your dashboard.
