Google Workspace admin restrictions and corporate accounts
Understanding how Google Workspace policies can affect 2calendars.
If you are using a Google Workspace account (provided by your employer, school, or organization), your administrator may have policies that affect how 2calendars works.
Common restrictions
Google Workspace administrators can:
- Block all third-party apps from accessing Google APIs
- Restrict which specific apps are allowed
- Limit the OAuth scopes an app can request
- Disable calendar sharing or external access
If any of these restrictions are in place, 2calendars may not be able to connect to your Workspace account, or it may lose access unexpectedly.
How to identify the issue
If you see an authorization error when connecting a Google Workspace account, or if a previously working connection stops functioning, the cause is likely an admin restriction. Signs include:
- An error message mentioning “admin policy” or “access blocked” during Google sign-in
- A connection that shows a permissions error on the 2calendars dashboard
- Authorization succeeding for a personal Google account but failing for your work account
What you can do
- Check with your IT administrator. Ask whether third-party calendar apps are allowed under your organization’s policy. Provide them with the app name (2calendars) so they can review it.
- Review your company’s policies. Before connecting a corporate account, make sure doing so does not violate your employer’s acceptable use, information security, or data handling policies.
- Use a personal account instead. If your organization does not permit third-party apps, you can still use 2calendars with personal Google accounts.
Important
You are solely responsible for determining whether you are permitted to connect an employer-owned or organization-owned Google Workspace account. 2calendars does not verify or monitor compliance with your organization’s internal policies. See our Terms of Service for details.
