Reconnecting a disconnected Google account
How to restore sync when a Google account loses its connection.
A Google account can become disconnected from 2calendars for several reasons. When this happens, syncing stops for all connections using that account. Here is how to reconnect.
Why accounts disconnect
Common causes include:
- You revoked 2calendars access from your Google account security settings
- Your Google password was changed or your account was recovered
- A Google Workspace administrator restricted third-party app access
- Google rotated or invalidated the OAuth token
How to reconnect
- Sign in to the 2calendars dashboard.
- Go to your account settings or connections page.
- Find the disconnected Google account. It will show a warning or error status.
- Click the reconnect or re-authorize button.
- You will be redirected to Google to grant calendar permissions again.
- After authorizing, you will be returned to 2calendars and syncing will resume.
What happens after reconnecting
- Your existing sync connections and rules are preserved. You do not need to set them up again.
- Syncing resumes from the point of reconnection. Events that occurred during the disconnection period are not retroactively synced.
- Health monitoring will clear any previous error status once the connection is verified.
Preventing future disconnections
- Avoid revoking 2calendars access from your Google account settings unless you intend to stop using the service.
- If you change your Google password, check that 2calendars is still authorized afterward.
- If you use a Google Workspace account, ask your administrator to allow 2calendars as an approved third-party application.
